The Power of Patience Part 2.
P31thirty
Hi love! I hope you’re ready to feel empowered by our valuable insights, practical tips and supportive network that help you excel in womanhood. 💕
Today we are covering:
Active PatiencePatience is a virtue we all strive to embody, yet here we are, fighting for our lives. Active patience involves working diligently and trusting God’s process as we wait for His will to unfold. | Passive PatienceIn our fast-paced world, the concept of waiting can seem counterintuitive. However, we are called by Christ to demonstrate patience in our daily lives. |
Active Patience
Last week we touched base on patience, so let’s dig a little deeper! If impatience looks like quick reactions to frustration, irritability, and restlessness, what does patience look like? Well, there’s active patience (which is so necessary) and passive patience (which we will discuss later).
Let’s discuss active patience first.
Active patience involves working diligently, staying hopeful, and trusting God’s process as we wait for His will to unfold.
In a relationship, this looks like nurturing and building your connection with your partner while trusting God to offer opportunities that shape and guide your relationship, knowing that God has His hand in everything. It could also mean praying for your spouse, performing small gestures, and enjoying your current season.
In singleness, this looks like embracing this season of life with purpose and intentionality. Emphasis on intentionality. It involves preparing for the future while trusting God to bring the right person into your life at the right time. It could also mean preparing yourself to meet your spouse, cultivating positive habits, working on you, seeking God’s will, developing your emotional health, praying for your future spouse and increasing your wisdom on Godly relationships by subscribing to P31. 😉
Active patience involves just that… taking action while you wait. It requires perseverance, discipline, and a steadfast heart.
Here’s a list of some actions one should take while actively waiting on the Lord:
Daily Prayer: Consistently seek God’s guidance and wisdom through prayer, asking for patience and clarity in His timing.
Studying Scripture: Girl, read your bible! Regularly read and meditate on the Bible to understand God’s promises and instructions, strengthening your faith and patience.
Seeking Counsel: If its really getting to you connect with a spiritual mentor or counselor who can provide guidance, support, and accountability as you navigate your season of waiting.
Personal Growth: Invest in personal development, such as pursuing education, hobbies, or skills that align with your passions and God’s purpose for your life.
As well as serving others, building on your current relationships, maintaining a positive attitude, letting go of control, participating in private and public worship (give God the praise He deserves), and my personal favorite, living out faith.
Get active and demonstrate your faith through your actions, making choices that reflect trust in God’s plan and a commitment to his principles.
Passive Patience
Christians are called to be active, not passive.
That’s it, that’s the newsletter. lol
Just kidding. But seriously, there’s nothing passive about Christianity! We’ve got work to do!
Even in scriptures like:
Psalm 37:7: “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”
This verse means to be still in the presence of the Lord, trusting that God is working even when it’s not visible, and trusting that it’s God’s time, not ours. Be still in heart, spirit, and mind while praying about something!
Hence the scripture:
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Emphasis on the “pray without ceasing.” God is not passive. We are called to know Him, love Him, and be like Him. So let’s get active. 😉✝️
